KARIM NAGI is a native Egyptian who has lived in the Boston area for over 20
years.  He is the founding member and manager of the Sharq Arabic Music Ensemble,
a performing member of the Georges Lammam Ensemble, and a teacher of Arabic
Music at the New England Conservatory.  He also developed Turbo Tabla : a music
and dance show that combines traditional Arabic and Turkish music with  modern
Electronica and Techno.

KARIM has becoming increasingly well-known in the United States as a talented
workshop instructor.  A musician and a dancer, Karim teaches dancers not only to
understand and recognize Middle Eastern rhythms, but also how to gain bodily control
with the sample rhythm.   He teaches short choreography segments and leads
dancers in their own interpretations of Middle Eastern rhythms.  His workshops are a
must for students who are looking to learn how to HEAR and FEEL Arabic music and
to take their drumming or dancing to a higher level.
We were very fortunate to have two area professional photographers in attendance for both evening
events, and they both captured some wonderful moments from the shows.  Please feel free to check
out their websites for information on ordering these high-quality prints.
