The Raks Sharki Studio ("Raks Sharki" means
"Oriental Dance" in Arabic) is the only studio of its
kind in the Triad Region. A boutique studio
dedicated exclusively to the celebration and
instruction of Middle Eastern Dance, it is the creation
of Winston-Salem's pioneering dancer and instructor,
Paula Stump. Paula began dancing 17 years ago at
a time when instructional videos and numerous local
workshops were few and far between, and takes
great pride in being able to provide today's dancers
with an environment that fosters both appreciation for
the art form and community-building among its local

Classes are typically $52.50 for the beginning
sessions. Students of the Monday and Tuesday
beginning sessions may make-up missed classes in
either class.
