Karim Nagi (aka Turbo Tabla) was in Greensboro in
November 2005 for a performance with the Georges Lammam
ensemble.  In addition to giving an hour-long percussion
seminar on Saturday, he also showed Omid some tips and
trips on Omid's tabla.  Karim returned to Winston-Salem in
March 2006 to give workshops to dancers and drummers
alike, and will be in Charlotte, NC in September 2007.
Loay Dahbour of San Francisco, CA, played doumbek with the
Georges Lammam ensemble during their 2005 appearance in
Greensboro.  After playing for nearly 4 hours each night, he still
managed to spend some time with Omid (and his doumbek) and
Sylvana discussing drum techniques and rhythms.
In January, 2007, Omid met and enjoyed
private instruction with an outstanding
professional tabla player from Orlando,
Abdel
Tahour.  Abdel is a Moroccan drummer who
plays with several musical ensembles in
Florida, including the popular band Mo'rockin'
that can be seen daily at the Moroccan
Pavilion in Epcot Center.

Issam Houshan of California was in
Charlotte in late 2007 for performances
with The Magic Hips Dancers.  Omid &
Sylvana cornered him for this photo op
after his show.
